Actress Scarlett Johansson has recently admitted that she finds Instagram too overwhelming for her to handle. She described herself as “fragile” and shared that social media platforms can sometimes be too much for her to cope with. The Hollywood starlet is not the only celebrity to have spoken out about the adverse effects of social media on mental health, with many others highlighting the pressure and scrutiny that comes with having a public profile.
Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she avoids social media because it makes her feel fragile and vulnerable. Despite her fame as an actress and being one of America’s most popular female entertainers, Johansson said that she could not cope with Instagram and Twitter. She admitted that she had a brief flirtation with Instagram but found herself wasting time looking at the lives of strangers. Johansson recently launched her own skincare line called The Outset and has had to give in to social media demands to promote it. Although she enjoys making videos for TikTok, she finds the platform too absorbing and knows that she can’t have it. With her film Asteroid City on the horizon, Johansson is content to stay away from the virtual world.
